Collections (Books, DVDs, Journals and More!)

The ERAU Hazy Library’s on-site collections lie at the heart of its resources and services.

Use the Library Catalog to find information resources. The Library catalog is shared with other libraries in the Yavapai Library Network. Items located at other YLN Libraries may be borrowed by placing a hold or request in the Library catalog.

The Library catalog will indicate where an item is located in the following collections:

Circulating Books - 1st Floor

Over 34,000 titles in print, CD-ROM, or DVD may be checked out.

Reference Books and Atlases - 1st Floor

Reference books, CD-ROMs and atlases are available for use in the Library only. Most Reference items are shelved near the Reference Desk. Some large sets may be shelved with the Circulating books – look for a sticker that denotes “REFERENCE” or “Not to be taken from Library.”

Reserves - 1st Floor Checkout Desk

Professors identify items such as articles, previous tests, books, DVDs, and manuals that support specific courses. These items may be checked out at the Checkout Desk for a limited time period. For more information, please go to our Reserves page.

DVDs - 1st Floor

DVDs for academic support and recreation may be checked out or used on a computer or DVD player in the Library.

Journals / Magazines / Newspapers - 1st Floor

Magazines and journals for leisure reading and academic support are shelved by Library of Congress call number order, while newspapers are shelved alphabetically. A list of magazine and journal titles is available on the Library web site. Current issues are on display, and older issues are bound into single yearly volumes and shelved adjacent to the current periodicals. Past issues of selected periodicals are on microfilm or microfiche and are located in file cabinets behind the bound volumes. Periodicals must be used in the Library. Single articles may be copied for personal use. Microform reader/printer/scanner equipment is located near the fiche and film cabinets.

NASA, NTIS & NATO Technical Reports - 1st Floor

Technical reports in the fields of aeronautics, astronautics, and space exploration are on microfiche and on CD-ROM. They are stored by report number in cabinets or binders behind the bound periodicals. Only NATO reports are listed in the Library catalog. Search for NTIS reports at http://www.ntis.gov  and NASA and NATO reports at http://nasa.gov/search.jsp.

Paperback Books - 1st Floor

Paperbacks are available for leisure reading and may be checked out. Browse the paperback shelves by author or look for titles and/or authors in the Library catalog.

Flight Manuals

Flight manuals provide information on the operations of various aircraft.  The Hazy Library has assembled manuals from small personal planes to large passenger jets into the Flight Manual Collection.  These manuals are restricted to Library use only.  Many frequently used manuals are located in the Reference Collection, while the remainder of the collection is stored in Special Collections (room 119).  Please ask a Library staff member for assistance in accessing these manuals.

For a listing and location of these aircraft manuals plus many additional manuals located in the Aviation Safety & Security Archives, go to http://archives.pr.erau.edu/findingaids/manuals.xls
