A primary mission of the Library is to provide information resources to support student learning activities. To do this we acquire, organize, and manage onsite collections of tangible information resources like books, journals, and DVD’s, and we license use of information in digital form that can be used online. Information resources to support all academic degree programs on this campus are included, as well as some general education, self-help and leisure materials. We are constantly shaping our collection to make sure it meets the needs of our clientele. In some ways, our collection extends to other libraries in Yavapai County, Arizona, and the world as we are able to borrow materials through our Interlibrary Loan agreements with other institutions.
We want to make sure our collection is balanced and meets the needs of our users as closely as possible. To that end we have our Librarians to evaluate different parts of the collection and specific subject areas. These Librarians continually analyze the collection, make decisions as to what should be included, and select new items to purchase.
Please let us know if you have requests for items that we might include in our Collection, or if you have had difficulty finding something on a particular topic.

As part of the Technical Services Department, Acquisitions serves the function of obtaining quality items to add to our collection. Knowledge of the publishing industry and vendors who supply tangible information resources helps to insure that the collection is kept current, relevant, and balanced. We want to make sure that tuition dollars that come to us through the University are spent in the most effective way to support all educational activities on the Prescott campus.
