Library instruction

We provide instruction that focuses on and is tailored to specific curriculum needs. Classes are tailored to course assignments to accomplish objectives determined by the librarian with the teacher, to demonstrate the library research process, and to teach how to access and evaluate sources. Library instruction classes include hands-on searching of the catalog, online databases of periodicals and indexes, and the web. Instructors may request library instruction sessions by contacting:

Library instruction Room

The library instruction room contains 40 computer workstations and an instructor’s station and projector. It is used by the library staff to teach information literacy skills and research methods to classes, as requested by the faculty. When not in use for instruction, it is available as an open computer lab for student use. Two laser printers are connected to the work stations in this area.
